waiting at the milwaukee airport
"airport views" mpls & san francisco
friday night/really early saturday morning... i landed at midnight and we didn't get back to our hotel in sacramento until 2AM (4AM wisconsin time). we crashed and then got up early saturday morning for our whirlwind san francisco day.
we made a pit stop at the jelly belly factory in fairfield. there's a jelly belly factory in wisconsin too, but the california factory is 1000x better. you get to actually walk the factory instead of having a train take you to various video monitors.
bertie bott's every flavour beans, coldstone ice cream parlor mix, spring mix & "bunny corn"
(jelly belly haul~)
before we left, we stopped at the jelly belly cafe to dine on jelly beans shaped pizza and pose for a picture with the giant jelly belly man.
after leaving jelly belly we got back on our way to san francisco!
we stopped at the point isabel dog park to get out of the car and stretch our legs for a little bit. being there made us both miss our dogs.
after almost 3 hours of driving, we made it to san francisco! we wanted to do an alcatraz tour but we got there after all the ferries had gone for the day, so we spent the majority of the day at the golden gate bridge.
after golden gate, we did a little bit of sightseeing.
the mrs. doubtfire house (2640 steiner st)
the "full house" house (1709 broderick st)
...and then there was lombard st.
one of the steepest hills in the city with four way stops at pretty much every intersection, which then leads into this crazy zig zag going down the hill. funny story? my friend amy's power steering in her car went out right before these zig zags. (and then magically worked again when we stopped at an auto zone to check everything out... kisses, gloria!)
we stopped at black bear diner in vallejo for dinner and to fill up this notebook with all of our antics from the day, and of course we had to take pictures with the bears outside after dinner.
before heading back to the hotel, we stopped in old sacramento to do a little bit of souvenir shopping. we went to candy heaven, stage nine entertainment, and evangeline's. and of course i couldn't resist taking picture of the street performers.
this has been quite a photo heavy blog post... day 2: yosemite is up next!
Thanks
