Yesterday was Kerry's memorial service. We held it at Justin's parent's land out on the Wolf River. I got to meet a lot of Justin's extended family/close family friends for the first time, which was fun I guess. A lot of people from work showed up. I mostly kept close to Cora all day and we went off for a golf cart ride once Melissa, Maddie, and Starr showed up. Maddie, Starr and I all ended up losing our cake due to ~reckless golf cart driving... and I got thrown off the back end and ended up making snow angels in the gravel because #nope. Before we all cleaned up and went home, we all dropped carnations in the river and let balloons go in honor of Ker. Death always seems to equal drinking in some form or another, so Cora and I polished off 3/4ths of a bottle of wine last night and ended the night at Truck Stop for appetizers and good conversation.
It's weird how much can change in a year.
