location scouting

Sweater & Jeans & Moccasins: Thrifted, T-shirt: Old Navy

Sweater #5 in my ugly sweater collection~ I thrifted this one at Salvation Army in Burlington in January 2013. It's the one I throw on for the walk to work when it's too hot for a heavy coat and too cold to go in just a tshirt. You've seen it before in this post right here.

I'm kind of in love with this parking lot. It reminds me of taking pictures on top of the parking garage in Burlington.

Week 13 in my 52 weeks project~ I hope you all have a good weekend! Sorry things were so quiet around here this week.

my first ugly sweater

Sweater: Thrifted, Jeans & Hat: Old Navy, Boots: Gift, Mittens: Lost & Found

This is the sweater that started it all, but coincidentally only #4 in my ugly sweater series. I found it at Salvation Army, which usually tends to be my holy grail of ugly sweaters. Something about the green cable knit and navy-purple-white accent V just enraptured me, and from that spawned an entire collection that I will probably keep up with for the rest of my life. Ugly sweaters, I love you.

In other news, it's snowing again, and I only got one hour of sleep last night so it's time to curl up on the couch with some coffee and hopefully finish season 8 of Grey's Anatomy!

the best time to wear a striped sweater

Sweater: Thrifted, Hat: Old Navy, Jeans: Walmart, Boots: Gift

Third installment in my ugly sweater collection series. Week 5 in my 52 Weeks project. This post could also be titled "The ootd in which I got eaten by the sun."

I went back to work this week. Justin has been sick and we've been taking care of each other. I've been drinking my coffee out of thrifted mugs and making my way through A Million Little Pieces by James Frey that I picked up at the thrift store for $.99... couldn't ask for a better deal. I got a surprise in the mail this week also. One of my aunts down in Florida found my great grandparent's Kodak Brownie kit, still in the original box, and she thought I was the perfect person to have it.

This week has been a bit of a roller coaster emotionally... I'm thanking myself now for making "Unafraid" my word for the year because it has made me accept that I have to deal with the hard stuff.

refresh

Sweater: Thrifted, Jeans: Walmart, Necklace: Grandma, Lipstick: Wild Rose by Flower

I thrifted this sweater when I went home over Christmas. It reminds me of something my grandma would wear, so wearing the pearl necklace she gave me just seemed very fitting. (2/10 in my ugly sweater collection)

It's cold, guys. Like Monday it's supposed to feel like -60* FAHRENHEIT. But there's something about photographing in winter that I love... Even though it's cold and I can never feel my fingers by the time I'm done shooting, I always feel so refreshed after a good shoot in the snow.

my ugly sweater collection

Coat: JCPenney, Sweater: Thrifted, Scarf: Unknown, Jeans & Hat: Old Navy

On Sunday, Justin and I made a trip to the thrift store to get him some new work shoes. Mission accomplished. I also walked out with two ugly sweaters (including the one in these photos) and a new pair of shoes for myself. I got home and counted all of my sweaters, neatly hung in my closet... 10. I have ten ugly sweaters. I'm not really sure why they're so important to me, but I know that now they're all I'm going to be wearing until spring.

I want to document my sweaters over the next few months. You've already seen a couple of them here & here, but let's just call this 1/10.

sweater weather is better weather

You guessed it... I thrifted this sweater the other day too. 'Tis the season to add to my ugly sweater collection. Fall is starting to make its appearance around here, and that makes me really happy.
