magic monday

Wedding stuff has more or less taken over my brain at this point. 59 days y'all!

July 23, 2015

70 days (!)

My wedding day look is done, minus maybe changing the hairstyle. And adding the brown boots my mom gave me out of her closet from the eighties when I was nineteen.

We had to change the bridesmaids dresses because right now they're 3 months on back order (#oops). The girls can do their hair and accessories however they feel is best; I'm just partial to the pocket watch necklace. For shoes, I'm highly thinking brown boots since it'll probably be a little chilly outside.

I hate the email game, but it's a necessary evil in the wedding planning process. Waiting on responses from officiants and florists and DJs. I'm also in the process of putting together our invites. It's really starting to feel like crunch time around here. I can't wait to marry Justin.

wedding wednesday: flowers

Here's my thought process on flowers: I want them to be pretty & vibrant, easy to find, and not too much of a hassle. Orange roses are simple to find at flower shops. Sunflowers and still in bloom in October. And there's a giant field of Queen Anne's Lace not too far from where we live.

I'm thinking roses & Queen Anne's lace for boutonnières.  Sunflowers & roses in mason jars for center pieces at the reception. A combination of all three for the bridal bouquets.

I'm on the fence yet about real flowers vs fake. One thing I do know though is that I want to do them myself. (And maybe bribe my bridesmaids & Justin into helping me.) 107 days until October 1!

June 02, 2015

it's tuesday.

Sorry about the abandonment yesterday, Blogland. I opened at work yesterday and came home to take a nap and then slept until 7 o' clock this morning (#oops).

Happy June! We have 121 days until we're married. I have to go to Appleton tomorrow to meet with a photographer. I'm ordering my wedding dress next week (yes, I finally picked one!). Still don't know if we're having a reception. Still have no concrete guest list. But we're getting there...

In other non-wedding related news, I'm mad at Mother Nature. Mostly because it's the beginning of June and I still have to wear a sweater and pants. Normally this time of year it's all dresses, all the time (unless I'm going to work). Can't wait for it to really start warming up around here again.

Today I have errands to run and photos to print and a summer mini book that needs some stuff in it. Can't wait to share!

wedding wednesday

Right now I'm trying to figure the logistics of possibly having Adrian's at the wedding. Justin wants to go all out on the cake... And it's not really a celebration to me unless there's Adrian's to go along with the cake. I just don't know a) how much we would need, and b) how to keep it frozen during the 3 hour drive and until we need it at the reception. Like I said, still figuring out logistics.

And I think I found a photographer. Still working out a contract there too, but will definitely share as soon as we have everything set in stone.

126 days. I should really get moving on things like invites & a reception venue...

wedding wednesday: dresses

I may temporarily become a wedding blog once a week. Maybe. This week I just want to talk about dresses. The middle one is my bridesmaids dress. October wedding, a deep red seems like a fantastic colour, and they come at the right price. Done.

The other two are dresses that I have been going back and forth and back and forth between for a few weeks now. The one on the left is beautiful and it fits the aesthetic I have in my head about what I want my wedding to be (and the lace! It's beautiful!). And the one on the right is stunning. It's the one where, when I asked my best friend and my mom, they said "The lace one is pretty, but this one screams you." So I'm torn, indecisive, and on a mission to work a bunch of overtime so I can save money to try them both and decide which one I like better.

It's quite the ride, this planning a wedding thing. I'm loving it so far.

love & duggars

I spent most of yesterday watching bad television, and all day I've been watching 19 Kids and Counting. I feel really sentimental and sappy watching it, because I'm really witnessing what it means to have a very close knit family where nothing can break that bond between siblings and parents and children and grandchildren. I'm witnessing how much commitment it takes to be a good wife and mother. I'm witnessing how much love the Duggars have for each other and it makes me tear up whenever I think about it.

Watching 19 Kids right now as they're re-airing all of the specials about Jessa's wedding makes me so excited to marry Justin. I can't wait to profess how much I love him in front of our families and friends. I can't wait to promise him for forever. I can't wait to party with all of our loved ones for the wedding and then work on a marriage for the rest of our lives.

149 days until married. I'm so ecstatic.

an engagement

I still can't believe it's real and that this is actually happening.

It was a surprise, mostly. Not in the sense that Justin and I have always talked about getting married. Not in the sense that we've been looking around for rings since December. Not in the sense that I fell in love with this ring approximately around Valentines Day and we started saving up money.

But I have always told Justin "If you propose to me on my birthday or some cheesy holiday like Christmas or New Years or Valentines Day I will say no. But the day after is fine."

So the day after is what I got.

Thank you so much for all the love. From Facebook to Instagram to text messages all day long yesterday. We are excited. We are so over the moon and happy and in love and we're overjoyed for all the congrats from yesterday.

how about forever?

I'm getting married! So completely over the moon. I love Justin. I love this ring. I love our little life. So excited to get to spend the rest of my life with him.
