on my walk

I took a quick walk through the park yesterday. I love spring and sunshine and dandelions. Happy hump day!

We got a new rug. I've always loved these rugs. I looked through the whole stack of them at Kmart to make sure I got the one that had the most colour & life in it. Slowly but surely, a year and a half after we've moved in, I am determined to make this space more homey.

Nothing calls for celebration quite like hot pink frosted funfetti cupcakes. What are we celebrating?

That this weekend is over.

That we survived a crazy work week.

That I started a new colour on my scrap yarn blanket & Justin picked up crazy hours at work all week. 

That I may have found a wedding dress(!!).

But mostly we're just celebrating that it's the last week of April. Happy Monday!

My day off was spent cleaning the kitchen. Dishes are done & put away, everything is in its place again. I feel better, less like everything is in chaos. I always forget how calming cleaning is. One step closer to having #5 on my birthday list done.

enjoying the signs of spring that are popping up everywhere (except you, allergies)

baking cupcakes! (after doing the dishes, of course)

feeling more & more in love with Justin & spring & life in general every day

an engagement

I still can't believe it's real and that this is actually happening. 

It was a surprise, mostly. Not in the sense that Justin and I have always talked about getting married. Not in the sense that we've been looking around for rings since December. Not in the sense that I fell in love with this ring approximately around Valentines Day and we started saving up money. 

But I have always told Justin "If you propose to me on my birthday or some cheesy holiday like Christmas or New Years or Valentines Day I will say no. But the day after is fine."

So the day after is what I got. 

Thank you so much for all the love. From Facebook to Instagram to text messages all day long yesterday. We are excited. We are so over the moon and happy and in love and we're overjoyed for all the congrats from yesterday. 

how about forever?

I'm getting married! So completely over the moon. I love Justin. I love this ring. I love our little life. So excited to get to spend the rest of my life with him.

two years

Two years ago today, I loaded my car up with all my belongings I could stuff in my trunk and backseat and drove three hours to live with a boy. 

And it has been a whirlwind of a ride with a lot of ups and downs, laughter and tears, but would I trade it for anything? Absolutely not. I love not doing long distance anymore, I love that I get to wake up next to the man I love every morning, I love that I found my forever. 

It's been two years. Here's to a million more. 

gratitude list

Grateful for... April showers during my semi-nightly after work Dollar General runs. 

Grateful for... Coffee & knitting for when I am at my worst. They're my greatest weapons against my anxiety. 

Grateful for... The sky. Light parties and sunrises and sunsets and cloudscapes will always have a special place in my heart. 

Grateful for... Creamer swirls that look like galaxies. I love taking pictures of my coffee in the morning.

Grateful for... Parking lot rainbows, because they're so cool.

It's birthday month! I'm planning a crafty birthday project that I will reveal on my birthday in two weeks (holy crap I turn 23 in two weeks).
